Finding Relief for Your Back Pain with Chiropractic Adjustment

Back pain is something that can be extremely debilitating for anyone who deals with it on a daily basis. All too often people decide to seek out help through their medical practitioner only to receive pain pills that mask their symptoms. The decision to have a spinal adjustment usually comes after years of suffering, and when they receive a recommendation to get chiropractic care. Getting your spine adjusted can not only relieve the debilitating pain that has taken over your life, but it can also make your entire nervous system run better.

Seeking the help of a chiropractor can be a little scary at first since you don't really know what a spinal adjustment is going to feel like, or if it is going to make your pain feel worse. Getting your spine adjusted should not be a painful experience, but can make you slightly sore for a short while after. This is especially true if it is your first adjustment after many years of suffering with your back pain. Some people see relief right away from their first chiropractic session though. If you suffer from headaches that are caused from your back pain then you are even more likely to feel that relief right away. You should always feel comfortable with the provider you are receiving the adjustments from, and you should be able to express your any of your concerns at any time.

Your chiropractic care may include several spinal adjustments a week to begin with, but will vary depending on how severe your personal situation is. While you should never try to adjust your spine yourself, there are things that you can do to help prevent the symptoms from getting any worse. Proper posture, exercise, and nutrition are just a few of the things that you can do to help do this. Cutting as much stress out of your life as you can will also relieve any tension that is contributing to your back pain.

Once you do find the right chiropractic provider in your area, you will soon start to experience all the benefits that are possible from receiving spinal adjustments on a regular basis. With relief well deserved, you will be on the road to a normal life that you probably thought was never going to be possible without the pain.

Chiropractic Benefits CALPERS & Kaiser

If you have your Chiropractic Benefits through CALPERS and have chosen Kaiser, then please read this.

We have been informed that CALPER’S and Kaiser are going to eliminate Chiropractic benefits for their patients as of the 2010 calendar year. Kaiser has done this so there premiums will only rise 3% like the rest of the insurance options offered by CALPERS and yet the other options for CALPERS have continued to have chiropractic coverage.

Now, the first thing to do is get on the phone to your Human Resources Dept. or the person who is in charge of your benefits at work and ask them if you do indeed have your Kaiser through CALPERS if you do, consider the following:

a. Find out when your open enrollment is and look into switching into a new health plan that will cover the Chiropractic and the other services you use. It is always nice to know about open enrollment before it is too late and you are stuck with the plan you have.

b. If you have no other plans to choose from, or the cost of the new plan is simply too much, then look into a health savings account (HSA) or a Flexible spending account (FSA) or some kind of plan offered by work where you can put pre-tax dollars in for health care costs not covered by your insurance.

By signing up for the HSA or FSA plans, you can use this money to come in and get your Chiropractic visits and related medical items covered. I will be able to furnish you with receipts or statements showing you came into the office for services.

c. If you have no other choice but to stay with your current insurance plan, and you do not have an HSA or FSA option, then call me up and we can talk about it. The health of you and your family and maintaining your access to care in my office is important to me.

Please do not be Reactive on this, be PROactive!

Getting Good Chiropractic in Your Area

If you are a back pain sufferer in need of a good chiropractor, then you should look closely at the chiropractors in your area. You can find out information on your local chiropractic care providers in several different ways. It is important that you do this before making an appointment with one that you just pick out of the phone book because not all chiropractors are going to be the same. You should also find out which one takes your insurance, and what exactly is covered so you don't run into any surprises at check out time.

When you do find a chiropractor that you really like you can then relax and concentrate on the relief that you will soon encounter. Some of the best ways for finding chiropractic care in your area are looking to your medical professional for a referral, getting names from your insurance company's provider list, and asking friends for recommendations based on their experiences.

Your medical doctor might know the names of good chiropractors in your area that would fit your needs based on your symptoms, and should be willing to offer these to you without giving a negative opinion about getting a spinal adjustment.

If you decide to just look at your insurance company's provider list you may find limited information given about the provider. This will most likely only include where they went to school, what year they graduated, and what organizations they are a part of. Getting a friend's recommendation just may be the best route to take when it is available. A friend's opinion should be trusted along with all the information they will have about that chiropractor. They will have inside information that you normally will not have until you visit the office yourself, including how the chiropractic provider conducts business.

Any of these routes should lead you to finding good chiropractic care in your area. No matter which you choose, you should always go with your own personal feelings about the provider chosen. If you, yourself are not happy with the care given, then you should feel open to trying another chiropractic provider in your area.
There are varieties of chiropractic treatment. There are three types that do no involve cracking or popping the back. There is network chiropractic, the B.E.S.T. system, and Pro Adjuster, a new technology that both provides the diagnosis and the spinal adjustment.
